Grishma Ritu (Summer Season)
It is an hot season full of unhealthy winds. Deposition of Vata Dosha occurs and Kapha Dosha becomes relaxes. Agni of an individual remains in a mild state.
Summer is when people lower their body temperature by sweating and drinking more, causing Agni to be diminished.
Pitta Characteristics:
Hot, Sharp, Light, Mobile, Oily, Slimy, Smooth, Subtle, Clear,Soft
Pitta Tastes: Sour, Salty, Pungent
When Pitta is off balance you will witness flaring up to acnes, skin rashes, acidity, heartburn, low blood sugar, and sleeplessness or insomnia. All these lead to irritability, impatience, and anger.
Aggravation of Pitta:
Hot humid weather; midday/midnight; mid-age; lemon, Sour juices; Tur and urad dal; meat and tuna; fermented food; green mango, tomato, spinach, and other Sour foods; hydrochloric acid or papaya enzymes; alcohol, esp red wine and hard liquor; smoking; aspirin, vitamin C; exposure to hot sun; working near a fire; fasting; forceful, prolonged intercourse; aggression, competition, anger, hate, envy, jealousy, judgment
Anger is the result of actions and efforts not producing the intended outcome.
Anger and Irritability are the classic expressions of excess Pitta and these imbalances are particularly likely to be triggered by excesses in hot, sharp and spreading qualities.
Lack of communication between the head and heart. (The seat of consciousness is in the heart.)
